I'm Erika and I live with my family in Chicago. Ever since I was 6-7 years old I got into sports. My main sport was swimming. During my school years I became very competitive and starting joining clubs. I wasn't too strict on my diet. After my practices I would crave something unhealthy. Like a burger or pizza. Luckily, it wasn't noticeable when I would eat unhealthy since I would practice twice a day 4 hours and 1 hour in the weight room.

When I finished my career as an athlete it's when I started feeling weird and my body started changing. I wasn't feeling as hungry as I use to but I knew I had to eat something because I couldn't go the whole day without eating. If I ate a pizza or burger like I use to then I would get bloated. I started working out but it wasn't the same as before but I still had to do something.

I started working out for 1-2 hours a day and after make myself a smoothie. I would add oats and other fruits as well. I noticed I wasn't hungry till like dinner time and my body was feeling better. 

As a result, I start creating more recipes that involved oats as well other ingredients and did researched how it can benefit our bodies to stay fit and healthy!


Creating this book has been a true inspiration not only to me but to those who have been on the path of the healthy lifestyle. By making a smoothie or a bowl can certainly make a difference not only to your body but to your lifestyle. 


To those who struggle with eating or want to loose a couple pounds. You don't have to be on a certain diet or torture yourself just to loose 1 or 2 pounds. Just cut down on the unhealthy foods and replace it with a simple smoothie or a snack that will make a difference.
